"My parents were a part of the March 5th, 2022 tornado that hit Runnells. They have been customers with STATE FARM for 34 years with a clean loss history and they've never missed a payment. After the storm, it took FOUR months to finally get funds to just be able to start the repairs/projects. My parent's first claim adjustor was rude, missed a lot of items on the initial inspection, and wouldn't respond to our calls or emails. In addition to lack of response from the adjustor, my parents couldn’t get ahold of their local agent, Tim Forbes either. After multiple attempts, I had to pretend I wanted new insurance just to get a call back. He agreed to meet with us, and we were able to get him to help us get a new claims adjustor and things were finally starting to look up. Our first contractor, Ram Roofing, was very supportive in the beginning, but ended up turning rude with us after not recieving payment from the insurance company right away. It took me many emails/calls to State Farm and Ram Roofing to get items figured out and agreed upon, I was basically doing their job for them. It took us almost a year just to get them paid because of State Farms claims procedures and the constant lack of communicarion and responses. Fast forward to fall of 2023, we found a new contractor to finish outdoor garage siding, decking, and interior projects. State Farm denied the outdoor garage siding as they didn’t believe our signed letter from our contractor stating the siding was no longer available. We had to wait on them to send out a person to get a sample and send in for verification. By time they responded back we were into winter and hit with back to back snowstorms. They finally approved the quote, but would not extend us time to get it done before the deadline of today. I contacted BBB, City Attorney General, and the Iowa Insurance Commissioner to review, but an extension to finish the remaining projects was denied. I have contacted them again, but not holding my breathe on assistance from them. The interior project to fix the living room ceiling was being denied due to contractor not having dimensions on the quote (this took State Farm THIRTY-NINE days to tell us why and what is needed). Now they are saying they paid us for more dimension size then what the contractor's quote had, but their pricing was from the original quote back on 2022 prices/building materials and these have gone up. We are still $850 difference. I do have a manger from State Farm and our contractor meeting to discuss the breakdown in more detail. All I can do at this point is hope the meeting goes well and it gets approved. Lastly, personal property items have been removed from the most recent list by State Farm. I submitted the original HHPP list that was sent in to get them added back on. Then they missed adding 12 items I sent in with receipts. Some of the items on same receipts got added but they still missed a bunch! Agent Tim Forbes and secretaries stopped responding to pur attempts to get further assistance. Horrible service all around! We are done with them soon, I am quoting new insurance carriers for my dad and brother. We have been through 12 claims adjustors (this does not include household personal property claims adjustors as this is a separate department) and every time we are assigned a new adjustor, it’s like starting over again. They claim to be a good neighbor, but they are FAR FROM IT."

"I spoke with Krissi today as I was switching my car insurance as I got a new vehicle. She was so helpful and nice we really had a great conversation. She got my new insurance all figured out for me. I had also spoken to her the other day about a broken windshield on my old car. And she was very helpful then to giving me a couple of places to call. She's very friendly and knowledgeable.
